Eagles Hit the Road to Face Quinnipiac on Monday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College hits the road for the first time in the 2023 season on Monday afternoon when the Eagles travel to Hamden, Connecticut to face Quinnipiac at 2 p.m. The match will be streamed live via GoBobcats.com.

SEASON OPENER
• A left-footed screamer from Jonathan Murphy in the 66th minute proved to be the difference in a 1-0 Boston College shutout victory over Merrimack on Thursday
• Murphy delivered his first collegiate goal from the edge of the 18-yard box on a layoff from classmate Aidan Farwell
• Senior Brennan Klein made three saves to post his fifth career shutout in the BC net
• The Eagles doubled up the Warriors in shots on goal, 6-3

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
• Quinnipiac was tabbed as the preseason favorite in the MAAC after winning its second MAAC Championship last season
• The Bobcats closed the 2022 campaign with a 13-5-3 overall record which included an unbeaten 10-0-1 home mark
• Graduate midfielder Brage Aasen was selected as the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year
• QU played to a scoreless tie with Rhode Island on Thursday to open the season as Karl Netzell made six saves

SERIES HISTORY
• Boston College is 13-2-1 all-time against Quinnipiac, including a 6-1-0 road mark
• Monday will mark the 17th meeting in series history between the schools
• Last year, the Eagles opened the season with a 5-2 victory over the Bobcats in Newton
• Quinnipiac came back with two second half goals to beat BC 2-1 in the 2021 season opener
